NICK KELLER IS A COMPOSER WHOSE MUSICAL CAREER SPANS OVER TWO DECADES.

Nick Keller has established an international career as a film & television composer. With a deep knowledge of music production and technology, Nick engages with orchestras and soloists across the globe. Across his recorded work, his roster of players includes the renowned LA Philharmonic & AFM musicians. Beginning his career in animation, Nick scored over 50 episodes of the hit series Dick Figures, one of the most popular animated series online of all time with over 2 billion views and growing. That same year, the historic Kickstarter campaign funded Dick Figures: The Movie.

The foundation of Nick's music is inspired by his love of synthesizers, and combining the modern sound of soft synth with orchestral elements. As a self-taught pianist since the age of 5, he relies heavily on his background in production and electronic music to create film & TV scores. In 2016, Nick joined with frequent collaborators Ed Skudder & Lynn Wang to score Unikitty! for Warner Brothers Animation. Together, they produced over 104 episodes across three seasons. Nick’s unique electronic & orchestral production brought a fresh, engaging style to The Lego Movie franchise.  Using his accomplished background as a songwriter, he has written & produced over 40 original songs for television and films.

CUSTOM MUSIC.
FOR EVERY PROJECT.

When Nick writes music for new projects, he creates fully-orchestrated demos that convey detailed orchestrations to the producers and directors. He begins each project, no matter the scope or scale, with a full mockup “demo”, writing themes, motifs and creating unique soundscapes.

The creation of suites at the outset of a project break the filmmaking process away from a technical conversation and into one about story, music subtext, and themes. At the beginning of last year’s King Tweety feature for HBO Max with director Careen Ingle, Nick worked for two months writing suites of thematic material, honoring the long history of Looney Tunes while ushering in a bold, new take of the animated franchise.

While Nick has a background in conducting, he prefers to remain in the control room during a recording session, to hear the detailing in a recording and ensure he’s hearing the accurate representation of the music. In recent years, Nick has become recognized within the scoring field for fresh musical innovation and style.
