Are You Alive - New Single Now Streaming

Over many months, I worked through an idea in my head for a piece that would have two requirements: start in C Major (a key that many people think is “easy” and boring… and record the majority of the sounds on a single synthesizer.

I wrote Are You Alive originally in 2022, at the end of scoring a film, as a palate cleanser. I don’t remember the actual writing of the original demo (I often forget, since sometimes first drafts are very painful and difficult to fight through) and I put it away for the better part of 2 years. I revisited it last year and liked it enough to have it be the lead single from my first ever full-length album of work not tied to a film or tv project.

It’s hard to describe music in words (in fact, it’s usually never a good idea to try and explain your music) but this piece is simply about looking inward to see if you are really alive.
